Itinerary:
Day 1: Medan – Bukit Lawang (3 hours’ drive)
Upon arrival at Medan Airport, proceed to the arrival hall where a BIH representative will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in Bukit Lawang. Situated at the foot of Gunung Leuser National Park, Bukit Lawang is approximately 3 hours’ drive from Medan. Upon arrival in Bukit Lawang, check in to your hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure. If you feel like doing a small walk, we recommend visiting the bat cave. This is a self-guided activity which takes around an hour of easy walk through rubber trees plantation.

Day 2: Gunung Leuser National Park
After breakfast, meet your guide and head out for a 5 to 6-hour jungle trek in Gunung Leuser National Park. Walk through the dense vegetation witness some varieties of birds, butterflies, orangutans, siamang (long arm apes), and different kinds of reptiles. Then return to Bukit Lawang on a traditional tube, rafting down the Bohorok River.

Day 3: Bukit Lawang – Parapat – Lake Toba – Samosir Island ( 6-7 hours’ drive + 1 hour by ferry)
After breakfast and checking out, meet your driver for your private transfer to your hotel in Danau Toba. Today you will drive along endless palm tree, rubber and cacao plantations and through the historic city of Pematang Siantar. Upon arrival at at Parapat, a town on the shore of Serene Lake Toba, you will embark on a public ferry to the island of Samosir. The ferry transfer takes about 45 minutes. Check into hotel for a 2-night stay on Samosir Island.

Day 4: Day at Leisure
You have today at leisure to relax after the long journey.
Day 5: Tomok Village – Ambarita Village – Balige
Today after breakfast, meet your guide in the hotel lobby and head out to explore this wonderful island by visiting Tomok Village to see the ancient tomb of King Sidabutar, then visit Ambarita Village to see the famous stone chairs and execution place of King Siallagan. Then you cross back to Parapat by ferry. Upon arrival in Parapat, you will be taken to to Balige and visit TB Silalahi Center museum which is situated on the south shores of Lake Toba. Continue on to the Batak Museum complex, dedicated to the preservation of the cultural values of the indigenous ethnic population of North Sumatra. Upon conclusion of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 6: Lake Toba – Medan
After checking out, you will take a ferry transfer to the main island. Upon arrival, meet your driver for your private transfer to your hotel in Medan.
Day 7: Medan – Banda Aceh – Sabang
After checking out, meet your guide for your private transfer to the airport, leaving enough time for your onward flight to Banda Aceh. Upon arrival in Banda Aceh, you will be met by a BIH representative and transferred to Ulee Lheue Port to catch the ferry to Weh Island. Disembark the ferry and meet your driver who will be waiting to transfer you to your accommodation.

Day 8: Day at leisure
Spend your day at leisure to relax and enjoy the areas surrounding.
Day 9: Pantai Gapang – Gua sarang
Today you will visit Pantai Gapang and Gua sarang including snorkeling.

Day 10: City Tour
After breakfast, meet your guide in the hotel lobby then head out to Km Zero Monument, other beache(s), waterfalls, hot springs, WWII Japanese bunker, and Sabang historical places / buildings. Upon conclusion of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 11 Transfer out
After checking out, you will be met by your driver and transferred to the airport, in time for your next flight out. Your Sumatra and Aceh Tour ends here.
