As you might know, Indonesia boasts more volcanoes than anywhere else in the world. Mt. Rinjani stands at 3,726 meters above sea level, towering over the island of Lombok, and its caldera is approximately 5.5 to eight kilometers in diameter. A climb to the top of this second-highest active volcano in Indonesia offers one of the most exhilarating and truly unforgettable experiences you can have in Indonesia.
The trail leading to the summit is steep and rocky, and it can be tough to walk through at night. However, the breathtaking sunrise views over Rinjani Caldera make the hard work worthwhile. Equally beautiful, on this trip you will also visit the Tiu Kelep and Sendang Gile waterfalls, which are situated at the foot of Rinjani.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Senaru – Sendang Gile – Tiu Kelep Waterfalls
Upon your morning arrival at Lombok Airport, you will be privately transferred to Senaru for check-in. After settling in, meet your guide in the hotel lobby and commence your afternoon tour to Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfalls. These two are considered the finest and most popular cascades in Lombok, situated at the foot of Rinjani at an elevation of 600 meters above sea level. It takes around 15 minutes to get to Sendang Gile Waterfalls, then another 45 minutes to get to Tiu Kelep Waterfalls. Transfer back to the hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight at Senaru accommodation.

Day 2: Sembalun Crater Rim at 2639 meters above sea level
07:00 After an early breakfast and check-out, meet your guide in the hotel lobby, then transfer to the RIC (Rinajani Trekking Centre) office for registration. Afterwards, commence your trek through the local plantations and then through the tropical rain forest as you enjoy the cooler hours of the morning. After around 7- to 8-hour trek including breaks in between, you will reach Plawangan Sembalun Crater Rim which sits at 2639 meters above sea level, and stay overnight in a tent.

Day 3: Mt. Rinjani Summit at 3726 meters above sea level
02:00 Your guide will wake you up for a light breakfast before commencing the trek at 02:30. The 3-hour trek will take you to the summit, which sits at an elevation of 3726 meters above sea level. Enjoy the spectacular sunrise views over the crater lake, the island of Lombok, and its surroundings. Afterwards, trek down to the campsite and enjoy a well-deserved hearty breakfast before descending to Segara Anak Lake. Lunch will be served by the lake. You will have some time at leisure to take a dip in the lake or relax with a soak in the hot springs, which are about 100 meters from the lake.
After a refreshing break, continue on your trek to the Rim of Senaru campsite, which takes around 3 hours.Admire the incredible sunset over Mt. Agung – Bali from the campsite as our team prepares your dinner.

Day 4: Trek Down – Departure
After breakfast and admiring the fabulous sunrise, you will start the track down to Senaru village. The approximate arrival time at RIC is 1 p.m., where your driver will be waiting to transfer you to the airport or next hotel.
