Situated on the northeast coast of Bali, Tulamben Bay offers a wide variety of sites, including the world-famous 120-meter USAT Liberty Shipwreck. The dive site is not only conveniently reachable from the shore, but it is also incredibly fascinating with its diverse marine inhabitants. The wreck is adorned with anemones, soft corals, and hard corals, creating a vibrant underwater ecosystem. No wonder the shipwreck is ranked as the second-best shipwreck dive by PADI. Amed

Situated 30 minutes drive south of Tulamben, Amed is a beautiful fishing village offering stunning views above and below the surface. Amed boasts incredible underwater diversity; whether you are into macro diving, wreck diving, or wall diving, Amed has it all. The most popular dive sites in this area are Japanese Wreck, Pyramid, Jemeluk Bay, and Bunutan Point. Amed is also suitable for all levels, from novice to experienced.

Blue Lagoon and Padangbai Area

Located around an hour’s drive plus a 5-minute boat ride from Sanur, Blue Lagoon is suitable for snorkelers and divers of all levels, especially macro-enthusiasts. The other dive sites in the Padangbai area are Gili Biaha, Mimpang, and Tepekong. While Tepekong is known for its beautiful canyon, Biaha and Mimpang are known as the best dive sites for shark spotting. These three dive sites are unfortunately only suitable for advanced and experienced divers.

Nusa Penida

Nusa Penida offers excellent drift diving. It is also the best place to spot manta rays and Mola Mola (in season). Due to its water conditions, Nusa Penida is only suitable for advanced and experienced divers.

Itinerary: Day 1: Arrival into Yogyakarta Upon arrival at Adisucipto International Airport, also known as Yogyakarta Airport, collect your luggage then proceed to the arrival hall where you will be met by a BIH representative holding sign with your name on it, before being taken to your accommodation in Magellan (approx. 1 hour away). Check in to your hotel and have the remainder of the day at leisure. Day 2: Borobudur Temple & Mt. Merapi on 4WD Get up at 5 am to see the sunrise from Candi Borobudur, the largest Buddhist temple in the world. Admire the unique structure and architectural of this UNESCO World heritage site which took more than 75 years to construct. Proceed to Mendut Temple, a ninth-century 26.4 Buddhist Temple which has become a meditation centre and other Buddhism practises and rituals. Afterwards, embark on an adventurous 4WD ride admiring the epic scenery of Mt. Merapi from different viewpoints. After the exhilarating trip, your guide will take you to the small museum and tell you about the latest eruption that occurred in 2010 that took the lives of over 350 people. Overnight at one of the hotels in the major shopping street of Malioboro. Day 3: Sultan Palace, Sambisari Temple, Ratu Boko Palace Remains & Prambanan Temple Today you will visit Sultan Palace, a palace complex built in 1755–1756 in the reign of Sultan Hamengku Buwono I (The King 1) which has now become a centre of Javanese culture. Next, visit Sambisari, a Shiva Hindu temple built in the 9th-century. Continuing on to Ratu Boko, a palace remains located in Bokoharjo village. This archaeological site was built in the 8th century during the reign of Syailendra Dynasty. Afterwards explore Prambanan, the largest Hindu Temple compound in Indonesia, dedicated to Shiva. This temple complex consists of 240 temples, built in the 10th century AD during the heyday of Sailendra dynasty. The temples collapsed due to volcanic eruption, earthquake, and political influence in the early 11th century. They were rediscovered in the late 17th century. Restoration works have been done to strengthen the temple structure; however, nothing has been changed or displaced to retain the authenticity. There is a Ramayana Ballet Performance held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at Prambanan Temple. Open stage and is available in the dry season May to October and from January to April & November & December the show is held indoor at Trimurti Stage. Komodo Island National Park Tour Description: Komodo National Park comprises of 29 volcanic islands with the largest islands being Rinca, Padar and Komodo Island. With beaches stretching out in all directions, giant bays, and rocky hills, Padar Island is definitely a must visit island while exploring the Komodo Island National Park. Return to the boat for some breakfast while slowly sailing to Pink Beach, famous for its bright pink powdery sand contrasting with the turquoise waters that surround the island. Here you can relax and soak up the beach’s natural beauty, or snorkel at tropical fish and corals. Now on to the main highlight of the trip: the Komodo Dragon… After lunch on board, you will then continue on your journey to Komodo Island. This is a self-guided activity which takes around an hour of easy walk through rubber trees plantation. Day 2: Gunung Leuser National Park After breakfast, meet your guide and head out for a 5 to 6-hour jungle trek in Gunung Leuser National Park. Walk through the dense vegetation witness some varieties of birds, butterflies, orangutans, siamang (long arm apes), and different kinds of reptiles. Then return to Bukit Lawang on a traditional tube, rafting down the Bohorok River. Day 3: Bukit Lawang – Parapat – Lake Toba – Samosir Island ( 6-7 hours’ drive + 1 hour by ferry) After breakfast and checking out, meet your driver for your private transfer to your hotel in Danau Toba. Today you will drive along endless palm tree, rubber and cacao plantations and through the historic city of Pematang Siantar. Upon arrival at at Parapat, a town on the shore of Serene Lake Toba, you will embark on a public ferry to the island of Samosir. The ferry transfer takes about 45 minutes. In this 4-day Sumatra Eco Adventure, you will experience the nocturnal life of the tropical rainforest, where you will see the famous orang utans swing freely in their habitat. Day 2: Labuan Bajo – Komodo Island National Park 08:10 After breakfast and checking out, you will be transferred to a meeting point where you will meet the rest of the group (private charter is available, drop us an email for enquiry). You will then take a short walk to the harbour while your luggage and dive gear are transported by a van. A short speedboat ride will take you to your phinisi boat where a welcome drink and friendly crew await. The ride to the first dive site takes about 2 hours. This allows you to settle in and enjoy the stunning scenery as you sail off into the Komodo Island National Park. A dive briefing will be conducted 20 minutes prior to arrival at the dive site. Indulge in a delightful lunch after your first dive and afterwards, continue on your journey to the next site for an afternoon dive. The night dive will be done near Rinca island. Day 3: Komodo Island National Park Start your day with a beautiful sunrise over Komodo accompanied with a good cup of coffee and light breakfast. You will have an early start today to see the Komodo dragons as mornings are the best time to spot these legendary lizards. Your trek will be led by a local ranger whom will help you spot and explain everything about these living fossils. Trek further to the dragon’s nest and to the lookout where you can see a spectacular scenery of the islands. Afterwards, return to the boat for a bigger breakfast as you slowly sail to the next destination. You will make three dives throughout the day with enough surface intervals in between. In the late afternoon, you have choices whether to do a small hike or do a night dive. Day 4: Komodo Island National Park Today you will explore the Central Komodo where you can see big pelagic fish such as manta rays and sharks. Blue Lagoon and Padangbai Area Located around an hour’s drive plus a 5-minute boat ride from Sanur, Blue Lagoon is suitable for snorkelers and divers of all levels, especially macro-enthusiasts.
