In the good old days, this tropical country had only two distinct seasons: the dry season and the wet season. The dry season would typically last from April to October, while the wet season would last from November to March. However, with the impact of climate change combined with El Niño and La Niña patterns, the weather has become unpredictable. The low season (January–April)

After the festive season passes, Indonesia begins the new year with a quieter atmosphere. It’s an ideal period to relax and recharge, with lower hotel rates and fewer tourists. If you don’t mind the rain, it’s a peaceful time to explore.

For those seeking drier conditions, Raja Ampat enjoys its dry season during this time. If you are interested in exploring this world-class snorkelling and diving destination, January to mid-April are excellent times to visit.

To fully explore Indonesia’s expansive geography, it’s recommended to plan a minimum two-week trip. Allocate 5-7 days on each island before moving to the next.
